Birthing Beyond The Binary is the course that I had been wishing existed and when it showed up, beyond grateful to be a part of. It is a cultivation of the topics that need to be discussed, areas of self and of work that need to be addressed in order to provide the support needed for folx beyond the binary. It's not a space of devaluing another persons experience within reproductive care, but addressing unapologetically what is, all of the ways in which possibilities of creating such beautiful and dynamic families could be and are being created, and what we truly need to look at to make the shifts personally and systemically. It gives space to dive deep into the self, to take a look at different perspectives regarding family, loss, fertility, justice, privilege, biases, and so much more on not just one level but all, racially, systemically etc. If you are a birth worker or a doula and are looking to truly support those who deserve an experience of love and care within this realm this is the course you need to take. This is a course for the world we are moving into, the one which was shadowed for a very long time, and one of true inclusivity for all.

Birthing Beyond the Binary felt like a sacred gathering of people who were ready to get their hands dirty and do the hard work of decolonizing reproductive healthcare spaces. I laughed, I cried, I squirmed, I breathed, I felt loved and held, I felt activated, I felt permanently, gratefully, changed. This class informed the trajectory of my activism work, my career and business, and my personal life in so many important ways. I feel like I got passed the baton and now I know where to run and who to pass it to next. Thank you, king yaa.

Birthing Beyond the Binary has completed shifted my practice. Not only in how I work with clients externally but also in how I FEEL as a queer bipoc human doing this work. king facilitated a space where bipoc experiences were centred and for the first time I felt truly comfortable in a classroom setting to use my voice and to share stories, thoughts and opinions. It has been a really special experience to learn along side folks that were ready to create safer spaces and services for the QTNB community. king has crafted a course that has a variety of guest educators that I feel so honoured to have had the opportunity to learn from. I really appreciated this aspect of the training because often trainings are so centralized around one educator. By decentralizing in this way, we have been able to learn from so many different voices. Overall it has been an amazing investment in my birthwork career and I know that all of the humans I work with in the future will benefit from what I've learned in this course.
